An excellent coffee experience. Can really recommend the coffee tasting flight, to experience and learn about coffee, not just espresso based drinks.

Man I love this place. A slayer pumping out extremely good espresso, fabulous staff and a great outlook. Everything a coffee lover wants and more.

Thanks to Bean Hunter I discovered this great coffee experience. I will definitely be finding excuses to find myself in Crows Nest again.

The Slayer certainly does help the barista create a superb ristretto, and the cold drip that Keith introduced me bordered on orgasmic.

Fantastic coffee

Awesome slayer machine which truly develops flavour out of the truly great roasted coffee on site. Kieth the owner is serious about his coffee as with all the baristas working behind the counter. The blue batak is one palate blowing coffee from the slayer.

If you truly love coffee, this is a wicked place to be.

Bean Drinking was brought to my attention as somewhere special, so I took a 45 minute drive today to find out for myself.
When I arrived I introduced myself to the owner Keith, and from there the experience was superb.
Keith first took me over to make me a syphon brew of a COE Honduras Las Amazonas, followed by an espresso of Blue Batak made on the fabulous Slayer machine, which was easily the best espresso I've had in quite some time.
To top that off Keith brought me some Cold Drip Yirgacheffe to try.

By then I needed to have some lunch so ordered my usual flat white to have with a nice looking Panini with ham & cheese.
These were soon brought out to me at the nice little table I'd set myself at outside in the lovely sunshine.
Again the coffee was the sublime (and the panini was yummy too).

All around a great experience and despite the distance from home, seeing as Keith isn't opening around the corner from me any time soon, I'm going to have to go back for more of that great coffee.

Fantastic coffee every time keeps me coming back for my weekday fix. But I had time to hang round today and, to make a great thing into a fantastic experience, it was very cool when one of the baristas took the time to talk us thru the coffee lab. They have that kind of enthusiasm that is completely infectious. We opted for the tasting flight which gave us three coffees from the lab (slayer, syphon, pourover or colddrip) which we shared. I'll be coming back for more, and bringing more ppl to catch the coffee geekout bug.

Loved this espresso bar the coffee was great on par with my locals in Melbourne one I haunt is St Ali . The girls made us feel like we were very welcome and the service that they provided very as good as any-where. On a slightly different note one staff a male was not what you would expect to be the front face of a vibrant espresso bar. He stood at the counter and did not smile or engage any clients in a welcoming manner, actually he did not engage in any conversations but stood there with not a trace of energy or friendliness. He was not interested in anything happening around him. If it were not for the fabulous girls fronting the business I would guess that this bar would not retain is regular clientel. Great coffee lab ok foods. Will be back but hope to see a smile on the dial.

At first glance as you walk into the shop it is relatively unassuming. A couple of baristas, a nice feel and a machine pumping out some espresso. Let your vision wander right and you will see something that would excite most coffee people, the Sensory Lab!

Lets get this out straight away. YES they have a Slayer, one of the most talked about espresso machine for the past year but I don't believe this is what makes it.

My experiences so far have been with Keith who is an absolute coffee geek and let me tell you, that suits a fellow geek just fine! Upon your request he will take you on a journey. Single origin espresso, syphone, cold drip. What ever floats your boat will be his pleasure.

The coffees they are serving are unique and roasted well, I'm yet to have a coffee that wasn't delicious.

Go in there, geek out at the lab, and enter coffee Bliss

Been coming along to this joint every week for a few months, and the place has never failed to impress. The man behind the counter really knows his stuff, and his passion for coffee is infectious - he's gotten us all into trying out siphons and pressure-profiled espressos from the Slayer and cold drips simply because he loves it so much. No pretentious coffee snobbery here - just a man overflowing with coffee love! This is my kind of coffee shop.

Atmosphere is great - love the choice of music and being able to sit next to a little park near a fountain while the sun sets in Crows Nest always hits the right spot.

Found this place on the way to my girlfriends house. She wanted to go home but I made her stick around for half an hour! These people really give a shit and they make probably the best coffee north of Mecca. Had a nice Ethiopia on the Slayer which is unique apparently. I want to go back there and try some of the filters.

The food's not amazing but apparently theyre changing the menu.

I love coming here as I learn something new every time. I especially like how they are pushing the boundaries and are hungry for knowledge. For those who love coffee it's reminisant of a kid in a candy shop. I especially like drinking different single origins from the SLAYER. Keith the owner plays aroud with the brewing pressure to extract different profiles from the same coffee. Each origin has a set of tasting notes. Yesterday I hear some one say 'Yep I got that and I got that and that, I didn't get that an so on', after drinking from the SLAYER and reading the tasting notes. Try the cold drip coffee served in a shot glass over ice as it is a totally different experience. Great work guys.

Loved everything about this place.

Went because I heard about the slayer, and the coffee was frigin amazing. So sweet and creamy.

The female barista took time to show me the shot pouring, she even tasted the first one she poured before she served mine. This place knows what it is doing, and is cool!

Will be back on the weekend when I have more time to sit in the lab and check out their syphon coffee.

Had a guat off the slayer this morning, fantastic! Heard the guy at next table exclaim 'oh my god that is fecking incredible!' as he tasted his slayer espresso, so i'm not the only one. Also tried a yirgacheffe siphon (beans roasted on site few days ago) which was beautiful. Mostly I can't stop thinking of when I can get my next slayer fix.

One of the few (if not only) places in Crows Nest that take their coffee seriously.
I haven't tried the food here but if you choose to eat elsewhere I'd leave your coffee fix for Bean Drinking.

I have been a frequent vistor to Bean Drinking since it opened and have always been impressed with the quality of the coffee. With the recent introduction of the SLAYER I look forward to tasting even better and different coffees in the future.

The location is great as it's off the main road in Crows Nest and the grass area is fantastic to lay out with a newspaper in the summer.
