So, off I trundled to 'Cup' and found myself quickly ordering my second tasty cappucino. It's a strong flavour, but rich and combined with great milk I really enjoyed both cups.
Very friendly staff who are 'the new kids on the block' and are enjoying themselves and their journey.
Outstanding new startup with a young but veteran crew, amazing slayer coffee machine from the states, coffee imported and roasted on site, blends and single origins, food, great atmosphere and easy location. Must visit
Reviewed by: richardmanley | Date: 6th March 2010 via iPhone App | Report this reviewCup coffee not only serves up amazing espresso, but also a variety of other coffee styles such as Chemex, Cold Press and more. The industrial setting, sparse but warm furnishings, and gorgeous coffee paraphernalia (such as a roaster on-site) make this my favourite coffee stop in West End. The staff make you feel welcome and at home. I can see Cup developing a real community of friends and coffee lovers due to their passion for coffee and willingness to speak and interact with all visitors to their shop.

Reviewed by: Dambinatrix | Date: 16th February 2010 via iPhone App | Report this reviewI really love this boutique and elegant cafe. I go almost every morning for my cappuccino and really get a good vibe. The coffee is good, the atmosphere is chic minimal and its very clean. You're always welcomed with a smile and the staff are charming. I like how they're doing something different with the design. They do pretty much coffee but they do it well. They have a modest but focused menu but they play up their strength which is coffee. I love the brown cups which match the no fuss atmosphere. There is a bit of an industrial atmosphere which I also enjoy. My only complaint is that there aren't more people going. I think this cafe deserves to be visited more often and celebrated on the west end. They are a small fish in a big pond, but I love them. We should all celebrate this little fish and help it swim and grow. Cup has a huge heart and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about it.
Reviewed by: Gibbled | Date: 12th February 2010 | Report this reviewCup serves the best coffee in West End. I went there last Saturday and I most likely be going back this Saturday! Seriously, the coffee is awesome.
The bircher is also great and the staff are friendly.
Recommended.
It is tough spending a Saturday morning at the recently opened Cup Specialty Coffee.
Cup has the much talked about slayer, a 5kg roaster on the way and very skilled staff.
So how is the coffee? In a word -- awesome! The coffee is of a very high standard and you won't be disappointed. It beats all of the surrounding cafes.
You better check this place out sooner rather than later before too many people find out about it, otherwise you might have to wait a while to get a seat!
Cup Specialty Coffee is brand new cafe roastery located in the heart of West End. Cup is the brainchild of Josh Russell who is a part of a wave of new up and coming roasters in Brisbane. The cafe has a bright modern vibe and very friendly staff who are obsessed with high quality espresso. Cup is the first cafe in Queensland, and the 4th in Australia to use the infamous Slayer espresso machine .. it is an absolutely stunning machine. Currently Cup is bewing a variety of high end locally roasted beans before they begin roasting their own in Febuary. Don't forget to bring your laptop because they have FREE wireless! A feature which I think every good cafe should have. Cup runs two grinders to offer you a choice of multi and single origin beans. I predict this will become one of the big coffee hot spots in West End and Brisbane.
