I think this place is really quite special. Synesso, anfim, monmouth beans are all great foundations. But friendly service, wonderful atmosphere, and of course, amazing coffee make this place complete. Situated only metres from Flat White, this place has it\'s own niche and is far more relaxing.

My flat white (served in a beautiful china cup) was like drinking silk. My macchiato was robust but incredibly smooth. The food is also great.

Overall, just fantastic. Another great addition to the area!

Foxcroft and Ginger is good. Funky, modern but with exposed brick and rough hewn timber. Food a little limited to pastries and bread based offerings, but inventive offerings like tolouse sausages and onion jam on crusty brown roll or eggs benadict inside an English Muffin or a triple stack of French toast sandwiching slices of banana. The choc brownies, carrot cupcakes and individual mini banana breads all look super tempting.

The coffee is good too. My flat White served in a vintage china cup covered in kitsch gold leaf bamboo patterns. Strong and rich, but smooth and not sharp. Finely textured milk that stayed a foam right to the bottom of the fine china cup.
Monmouth coffee, Synesso machine, Jersey milk from Somerset adding the final touch. Jersey cows tend to give a richer creamier milk but produce lower volumes so fall out of favour of high volume farmers.

Great space to chill out and read the paper. Nice music, smiley staff.

Enjoy!

Foxcroft & Ginger is a new edition to Soho’s growing coffee scene. Although set only a few doors down from Flat White this little store manages to forge its own identity as it is more of a Deli than a specialty coffee bar. I was actually walking past and popped in just out of curiosity.

Inside is a really rustic & beautiful space with a long counter taking up nearly the whole store filled with pastries & fresh sandwiches. Up the end is a prized 3 group Synesso & an Anfim grinder. The coffee is Monmouth which is known to be one of the best in London. I ordered a ‘Shorty’ and had to explain I just wanted a ristretto killed very short. Unfortunately I was presented more of an espresso but it was still very nice & smooth. I can’t comment on consistency or milk based drinks so I would love to hear what others have to say.

It’s definitely worth a visit if you are in Berwick Street & by the looks of the food it would be a great spot for lunch or breakfast!

Synesso + Anfim + Monmouth Beans = great expectations

Foxcroft & Ginger has opened its doors a stones throw from London's award winning cafe Flat White, a brave move, but one that might pay off for them.

With plenty of space over 2 levels, and a good selection of freshly made sweet and savoury food items, alongside a number of deli items, Foxcroft & Ginger is well positioned to serve the growing cafe culture in London.

Food aside, we were here for the coffee, and ordered Flat Whites. The drinks were well made and served in a glass, a break from the norm (no porcelain cups to be seen), and surprisingly there was no visible latte art (not that this detracts in any way from the flavour of the coffee or quality of the drink itself)

The music was jazz funk and created a vibrant ambiance. We were lucky to have bagged a table and settled in to read one of the many papers and magazines available.

Heading downstairs you will find a selection of tables, couches and funky armchairs, as well as a pommel horse (to match the one at the top of the stairs - used perhaps as a leaner?) as well as a loo (to the right at the bottom of the stairs)

Service was good and the carrot cake was delicious.
Will pop in again.
