I had high expectations, having read great reviews here. The coffee seemed adequate, but not particularly good. Espresso extraction time of around 50 seconds seemed rather high, and while there was some latte art on my Flat White, the milk was not well textured.
Possibly not as good as usual due to Barnes Fair today, but I would not go out of my way to visit. Much better to go to Taylor Street (Source) in Richmond.
(These guys also do the Chiswick Farmers Market on Sundays plus they share the Outsider Tart cake shop in Chiswick...)
I've taken home the Peruvian ground for espresso and the Guatemalan ground for cafetiere. I'm not a big fan of cafetiere coffee (that was for my wife) but their blend was excellent.
The Peruvian was well suited for a macchiato - rich and full bodied, without bitterness.
Service was excellent. At both shop and stall everything's done with friendliness and humour. Nice touch is you can also tweet them @weeniebeans with your requirements. My coffee was freshly ground to order and readied for pick-up (at the shop that is).
Its great to finally some great coffee into W4.
I've just moved to the area and found this coffee stall in the farmer's market. I cam from an area where good coffee was relatively easy to find, and I've been getting fed up with not being able to find decent coffee in west London. So I was pretty surprised to find that the best cup I found was in a market!
It's really tasty coffee, with expertly steamed milk, and despite the long queues, they still presented the coffee beautifully.
The only downside was that the queue was constantly about 20 people deep, but I guess that's to be expected for good coffee....!
If you live within commuting distance of Barnes (SW London) and you have not yet visited the farmers market on Station Road on a Saturday morning then I suggest you make your way there the next time you are free (rain hail or shine)
Weanie Beans has a stall turning out one great coffee after another.
There was a certain radiance eminating from thsi stall, with smiles on both sides of the counter, and positive reviews of the coffee floating across the air from stallholders and patrons alike.
There is no seating in the market itself but the market is away from the hustle and bustle of a high street and there is a duck pond opposite, a place to enjoy your coffee and tuck into some of your purchases (like the delicious cupcakes from Outsider Tart, whose premises Weanie Beans operates out of Monday to Friday)
At the market you'll find a selection of fresh food, from an organic farm selling freshly made and rolled butter, milk and meat products, to a fishmonger selling fresh fish like you buy at the docks, organic vegetables that were so fresh they still had some soil on them, wholesome breads and cakes, delicious cupcakes, italian wines and oils.
The market is only open on a Saturday.
I tried a flat whie and macchiato whilst there and was impressed with the taste. The beans used were Peruvian, organic fairtrade from a local London roaster.
